Artist Statement

‘My inspiration comes from the environment. My work responds to the social history of places and people. Themes are diverse, from travelling fairgrounds to past industries such as salt production, potteries and mining. The common link through my work is exploration of a location and the archival material associated. Through my work I aim to encourage thought and recollection and by doing so forge new relationships between the audience, subject and artwork.’

Originally from the Sunderland Angie studied Fine Art at Leeds Metropolitan University gaining a BA Hons Degree. Having pursued a successful teaching career at Trinity School, Warwickshire she went on to become Head of Centre for Warwickshire Pupil Reintegration Unit.
